Estimated processing times

We are currently experiencing longer than usual processing times. We appreciate your patience and apologise for any inconvenience.

Estimated processing times relate to applications for existing certificates. If your application is for a new registration (e.g. application to register a change of name), please refer to the registrations processing times.

Processing times begin when we have received your complete and correct application, including required copies of identification.

Estimated processing times do not include Australia Post delivery time. Visit www.auspost.com.au/service-updates for delivery times.

If you have an existing application and need the certificate urgently, you can upgrade your application to priority service for an additional $43. Priority applications are assessed within 1 business day. Please contact our office on 131 882 to upgrade your application. Priority service is not available for unregistered events, commemorative or family history certificates.

Builders licence
Due to an increase in applications, current wait time for an interview is between 10-12 weeks.

After submitting your application, you will receive a notification of the date and time within 2 weeks if an interview is required.  

Contact Consumer and Business Services  if the scheduled appointment is not suitable.

Interviews cancelled close to the scheduled appointment could result in significant delays.
