Reforms to the way the gambling sector in South Australia is regulated have commenced with the disbanding of the Independent Gambling Authority (IGA) and all regulatory and policy responsibilities transferred successfully to Consumer and Business Services (CBS) on 1 December 2018.

The Liquor and Gambling Commissioner will now as previously announced by the Government, commence a broad review of all gambling regulation in South Australia including the review of the Social Effect Inquiry Process, previously commissioned by the IGA.
