Liquor Subsidy Scheme

When one door closes another opens: Changes to the Cellar Door Liquor Subsidy Scheme

On 30 June 2016 the State Government will abolish the Cellar Door Liquor Subsidy Scheme which is administered by Consumer and Business Services.

The Department of Primary Industries and Regions SA will create a wine industry development scheme, working closely with industry in its development and implementation. This new scheme, which will come into effect on 1 July 2016 will replace the current Cellar Door Liquor Subsidy Scheme.

PIRSA anticipates the creation of this new more strategic scheme will redirect funds to benefit all regions, wine businesses of all sizes, and the wine industry as a whole; with a broad-based, strategic approach to industry development.

The change will have no effect on current approved liquor licence conditions.
