Consumer and Business Services now has an online portal available to authorised marriage celebrants, allowing them to complete paperwork online. The new system brings South Australia in line with interstate Births, Deaths and Marriage Registry offices.

Benefits of the new marriage portal

Through the new system, celebrants can:

  • save time, by avoiding the need to complete their details across multiple forms to CBS
  • submit marriage registration forms online, which will mean couples receive their marriage certificates sooner
  • order a marriage certificate on behalf of the couple at the time of submitting the marriage paperwork
  • transfer a Notice of Intended Marriage (NOIM) to another celebrant
  • view their recent marriage registrations in real time, including the registration status
  • update their contact details quickly and easily ensuring accurate records for correspondence with CBS.

User-friendly process

Through the portal celebrants will also be better guided through the process of completing the marriage forms, ensuring all relevant information has been completed when submitting documents following the marriage ceremony.

The portal will also have the correct and up-to-date versions of the required marriage forms.

Using the portal is optional. To request a login please email: bdm.registrations@agd.sa.gov.au

Instructional videos for registered users of the new system are available within the portal.
