An unlicensed second-hand vehicle dealership and its director have been fined $9000 for selling vehicles after their licences had been cancelled.

The Adelaide Magistrates Court heard that Prospect-based business Future Designs Pty Ltd, trading as Low Price Autos, and its director, 63 year old Phillip Nanasi, continued to sell second-hand vehicles, despite their dealer’s licences being cancelled in early January 2016.

The court heard that while there were no consumer complaints, Nanasi was clearly aware of the requirement to be licensed.

Magistrate Gregory Fisher fined Future Designs $6000, and Nanasi $3000, noting Nanasi was experiencing financial difficulties at the time and had prioritised the payment of other debts over the licensing costs.
