This statement sets out the enforcement approach that charitable fundraising regulators across Australia will take to comply with certain specified requirements as set out under their respective laws in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Regulators across Australia recognise that COVID-19 has created an exceptional set of circumstances and will have significant impacts on charitable fundraisers.

Governments across jurisdictions have already taken action to assist and support many businesses, organisations and individuals that may be experiencing difficulty due to the pandemic.

Charitable Fundraisers may need to comply with multiple fundraising laws (including multiple registrations) if they intend to fundraise in more than one state or territory.

For charitable fundraisers who cannot comply with relevant legislative requirements due to the impacts of COVID-19, regulators will take a supportive and educative approach when assessing compliance with charitable fundraising laws.

Regulators will continue to monitor the situation and engage to provide advice and assistance during this period.
