A new awareness campaign has been launched in support of this year’s Gambling Harm Awareness Week 16 to 22 October 2023.

Titled Gambling Harm Ahead, the digital and radio campaign uses the bright neon colours often associated with gambling venues to highlight the warning signs about chasing losses, borrowing to bet, gambling alone and financial stress.

Once attracting the audience’s attention, the campaign strives to educate people about identifying the signs of gambling harm early and remind them that help is nearby if needed.

Consumer and Business Services is also reminding those who think or recognise that they may have an issue with gambling that barring could be and is a good option to address that.

People can discuss options to bar themselves or their loved ones from one or more premises with CBS. To exclude yourself from all online wagering providers contact BetStop. Read more about Help with Gambling online or find more information on www.problemgambling.sa.gov.au.

The campaign will continue beyond Gambling Harm Awareness Week to 4 November 2023.
